Murphy & Son
Sometimes, business becomes more than just a supply/demand agreement, it becomes a relationship of mutual trust and respect. In special circumstances, it becomes one of friendship too, which is the type of business relationship Hook Norton Brewery has with our long, long, long-time suppliers, Murphy & Son of Nottingham.
Murphy & Son have been providing brewery and laboratory supplies to Hook Norton Brewery since before the war, and we’d have to go back through our archives to know for sure which war, Second or more likely the Great War.
Today, their Managing Director, Charles Nicholds accompanied by his Technical Sales Manager, Steph Brindley visited the brewery to celebrate and mark our 175th anniversary by taking our brew crew for lunch and then presenting our MD with a fantastic memento that now takes a prominent position in our museum.
Murphy & Son has been at the heart of the British Drinks Industry since 1887, so a little younger than Hooky, maybe, but with a history just as fascinating.
