First Dog Walk Goes Well
Local Pub Hosts Successful Dog Walk with Potential for Growth
Charlotte Prew, owner of The Roebuck Inn in Drayton, teamed up with local dog walker Claire Steels to organize a dog walk on Sunday, June 30th. The event proved to be a hit, attracting a whopping 36 furry participants and their owners for a scenic 4.2-mile trek.
“I’m truly amazed at how well the dog walk went,” said Ms. Prew, hinting at the possibility of even more canine companions joining the next one. “We capped registrations at 36 for this first event,” she explained. “We wanted to start small and be able to manage the group effectively. But the response was fantastic! Everyone had a great time, and we already have a bunch of eager walkers ready to join the next outing, even before we’ve announced the official date.”
Steph Simons, who participated in the walk with her husband and two dogs, described the experience as “full of smiles, happy people, and most importantly, happy dogs!” She added, “It was the perfect Sunday activity, and we can’t wait for the next walk.”
The pub also offered a special “doggy Sunday lunch” after the walk, which was enjoyed by 14 furry diners.
